NJ I.M.B./CABEÇA COMPETITION TEAM was created in 2003 with the uniting of top teams in New Jersey that have been training and competing together for nearly a decade. These teams have been competing in the modern arts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Submission Grappling, Western Boxing, Greco Roman Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts. This was done to create the ultimate martial arts competition team with all the top trainers in all the top martial arts.

The NJ I.M.B. stands for NEW JERSEY INTERNATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS & BOXING. The CABEÇA part of our team name is for our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt instructor, Fernando “Cabeça” Sarmento Jr.

Since its inception in 2003 the NJ I.M.B./CABEÇA COMPETITION TEAM has been creating champions. Both individually and as a team students of our family have excelled in all areas. We strive to build championship level students in all of the arts we train all while teaching as if we are one big family. The belief of “strength in unity” is what guides the team and all of its members to martial arts success.

We are committed to serving our team by promoting a positive mental attitude and the highest level of physical fitness thru the study of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and all of the arts provided by the I.M.B. We further commit to provide the best training skills, drills and techniques available for our competition team to succeed both in their martial arts and in their personal lives.
